My Students

I work in a school district in East Texas that serves a diverse variety of families. Our school houses Pre-K through 3rd grade, and we foster a family environment among our teachers and our students.

Like most kindergartners, my students are very inquisitive and they love to learn!

My goal is to create a safe learning environment for them, such that every day, they know they are valued, respected, and able to make new discoveries without fear of getting it "wrong."

I consider it a privilege to be a part of my students' lifelong learning journey! They bring so much joy and excitement to our classroom!

My Project

Kindergarten has changed greatly over the years. The academic demands are higher than ever, and the amount of time devoted to traditional play has decreased. There is, however, a fact that remains the same: it is very hard for 5-year-olds to sit still! These wobble seats will help my highly-active students relieve some of their wiggles while remaining on task in class. For students with difficulty focusing and a constant need to move, listening to a teacher while remaining seated for an extended period of time is a huge challenge. These seats will extend the amount of time a child can stay seated and retain focus on math and reading lessons.
