My Students

Moving into the new world of technology! My students would love to have the opportunity to learn through technology.

Our school is a Title 1 school with limited access to technology.

We currently have two computer labs that are shared with the whole school. The open lab times are limited due to testing and resource classes. Most of my students do not have access to technology at home. School is the only opportunity for most of my students to gain access to the new technology of today. My students are always eager and excited to use any type of technological device. I would love to provide the opportunity for my students to experience all the resources that are available online.

My Project

This year my first grade students are embarking on a journey through STEM. Through the STEM process, students will become engineers, scientists, and mathematicians. We are in the process of solving a plant problem in our garden. Students are going to be doing research and documenting the process with the use of technology. As of right now, we have one iPad in the room. With a class of 22 students, trying to allow time for all students to have the opportunity to use the iPad can be an issue. I would love my students to become student bloggers and blog about the STEM process. In order for this to be effective, we need more iPads in our classroom so my students have the chance to create their own blog entries about the experiences they are having through our STEM project. The blogs will also allow our community to stay informed about what's going on in our class.

Donating to our class will benefit my students learning and give them the opportunity to grow as scientists, engineers, and mathematicians through the use of technology!
