This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have amazing little minds that are eager to learn. They love when technology is incorporated in a lesson. I love to see how they blossom throughout the school year when they master a goal. My students are learning how to read, write, and count. My students only speak Spanish and they love to learn new concepts every day. Being a bilingual kindergarten teacher for the past 14 years has shown me that regardless of not having prior schooling, every little body can learn starting from holding a pencil to learn how to write their name to the end of the school year writing a complete sentence.

My Project

Our bilingual classes lack adequate and appropriate Spanish learning resources. I love teaching to my bilingual students but there are some resources that our classrooms might not have, due to the language barrier. By incorporating iPads in my classroom they would be able to use apps that will help with their learning. There are not that many Spanish language websites that my students can navigate, but the iPads have many apps that my students can have access to, ranging from letters/sounds to forming words. These tablets will be essential to their learning. Providing this tool will help my students achieve their learning goals. I believe that students need technology as part of their learning.
