My Students

My students are lucky to go to school in the heart of Waikiki with sunny weather and the beach a block away. They come to school from diverse backgrounds, with a variety of cultural life experiences. My class consists of EL students, special education students, and more than half my class receives free or reduced lunch. They love coming to school and enjoy learning new things every day.

My Project

I am requesting post-it notes and STEM building block kits to spark their imagination! Donations to this project will help me provide my students with STEM building block kits to expand their imagination and creativity through play. The kit includes 164 assorted pieces they can snap together to build geometric shapes we learned in math or anything their hearts desire.

Learning through play is important.

Students will have fun working together in small groups to build something. It encourages hand-eye coordination, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. These are important qualities we want our students to have to prepare them when they become adults. The sticky notes will be used to label what the students build in their small groups.
