My Students

The 18 students in my inclusion classroom are kind, creative, and curious. This small, neighborhood magnet school focuses on building community while inspiring students to grow as learners with a focus on math, science and technology. My class is inclusive of all learners and all ability levels (with greater than 25% of the class currently receiving special education support services). Students with varying disabilities work collaboratively with traditional learners and gifted / academically talented peers. We embrace each other's strengths and differences and celebrate the social, emotional and academic achievements of every child!

My Project

I educate our future! My students will become the scientists, engineers, explorers, educators, and so much more for the next generations. In order to prepare my students for this world of technology, they will have the opportunity use these tools to practice coding and programming skills while "playing" with robots! By using coding apps on the iPad, students will be able to program Dash the robot using beginning programming skills. Dash the robot will be controlled by the students as they "speak" to the robot through codes. The students will also explore additional age appropriate apps and activities focused on early coding and programming skills. By integrating coding robots into our Science, Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, Art and Science centers (STEAM), students will engage in collaborative, differentiated, interest based learning experiences. With your help, my students can become 21st century learners and leaders!
