This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in the low-income, mid-city district of Los Angeles. My students come to school every day and we have the highest attendance for a Title I low-income school with a population of about 700 plus students. My students are a rambunctious, beautiful bunch of kids with so much life, love, and learning to be had. They deserve everything the world has to offer and more! I am so proud of them, every step of the way! They are happy learners with smiles and excitement all day!
My Project
My Transitional Kindergarteners use Play-Doh everyday for almost every subject. They create letters, words, shapes and more using play dough. We have recently begun learning about 3D shapes. My students have practiced making flat 2D shapes and would love to practice making 3D shapes. This will allow them to have an on hands experience and tell the difference between 2D and 3D shapes. We have also began to blend CVC words and being able to make CVC words with different color Play-Doh will be so helpful as my students will be able to identify the vowel and the two consonants in our words.
