My students come from a variety of economic backgrounds with 88% of them receiving free or reduced-price lunch. The school's population is very ethnically diverse as well. We serve a rising number of English Language Learners. Needless to say, students come to school with their own unique set of struggles and successes. One thing they have in common, though, is their love for school and learning.
All of my students are very eager to learn new things, and they all would LOVE the opportunity to work with the Osmo Pizza Company Kit and the Coding with Awbie Kit.
My students love to be active and work with each other playing learning games. Some of the best learning experiences this year have come from the spontaneous moments when they are interacting and learning together!
My Project
The Osmo Pizza Co. Kit and the Coding Awbie Game (used with our new Osmo Genius Kit) will help my classroom become more technologically integrated. The Pizza Co. Kit will aid in helping students learn fractions and money. The Coding Awbie Game will aid my students in developing problem-solving and logic skills. Both of these kits will help my students succeed in an increasingly digital world. These tools will provide a way for my students to become engaged in their learning.
Osmo is an award-winning game system that fosters creativity and problem solving skills through hands-on play.
These kits will also help to differentiate learning for my students. Students of all instructional levels will benefit from this learning resource. The Osmo kits allow students to work cooperatively or alone. This kit will allow my students to become familiar with coding and can expand student thinking and problem-solving skills.
