Learning With Manipulatives

Help me give my students learning manipulatives to guide their learning! They can enjoy learning and have choice in the ways in which they learn!

My Students

My students are eager to learn. They want to feel smart, loved and successful. Having the ability to choose where they work and what they work with is important to feeling safe in their learning environment.

Many of my students come from low income families.

We are also considered a trauma-informed school. What this means for many of my students is that they are in need of a safe place to learn and grow.

Kindergartners also love to socialize with their peers. They enjoy being able play and learn together.

My Project

One of the reasons I enjoy teaching is seeing the joy on my students faces when something new makes sense. I especially love when they are able to learn it while having fun!

What I am hoping to add to my classroom is the opportunity to learn through play.

Many of the activities will enhance the student's fine motor skills. We are seeing a large gap in students abilities to use their fine motor muscles when holding pencils.

These games are extremely engaging and self correcting. This allows the students to work independently while I lead small group instruction. For example, I will have four to six students working on math or reading goals while other's are using these games and tools to learn.
