My Students

There is a deep spark of joy that proves to be transformational in watching a shift from bored, disengaged minds to that of young adults who are passionate, driven, and innately curious about the world around them.

We are teaching more than just kids; we are shaping the future of our nation and society as we foster awe, inspiration, and a spirit of entrepreneurial leadership by planting a seed of hope.

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, their home lives, educational successes, and life experiences drastically fluctuating from one child to another. The challenge is not only to meet these diverse needs, but to inspire a sense of awe in each student, to give them the belief in themselves they so often lack, and to lead them to the tools they need to build successful experiences for themselves as they grow. Most importantly, I aim to inspire minds and hearts by presenting aspects of each student that often, even they themselves have not yet discovered. In turn, they, unknowingly, gift me with inspiration and hope each day.

My Project

Labs and dissections are an integral part of any Animal Science class, as students learn hands-on skills best when actually learning by doing. To complete these engaging and educationally interactive labs that enrich Animal Science curriculum with real-life applications and career-based skills, my students need dissection pans to maintain a sterile lab environment, tools such as beakers, scales, funnels and other fundamental items.

Engaging, skill-based content that applies what students are learning in a hands-on environment is key to learning retention and student success!

By adding these critical lab items to our program, we are able to build a solid foundation of supplies, and through them, skills and knowledge, that our students will continue to engage and use as they continue through our program and advance to higher classes. This contribution not only benefits current students, but will continue to benefit students in our program in years to come as we continue to implement them to teach hands-on methods and skills, both in the classroom and for Career Development Events through FFA, for years to come.
