it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"We are not the product of what has happened to us in our past. We have the power of choice." -Stephen Covey
What I love about my students is their resilience, even after facing so much change during the pandemic.
My Project
Children love to build with Legos! Students will collaborate together as building teams to create their stories by playing with the Legos.
When children learn through play, they use their imagination to write stories.
Legos help children to engage in collaborative discussion about what is happening in the beginning, middle and end of their stories. They begin by drawing and building together and then putting their creations into words.
As their teacher, I will be helping them to sound out the words for their stories as they decide what traits their characters will have. I will be providing them with support and feedback to help them express their drawings into words. I will help them understand how to use the books that come with step by step instructions.
I will help them complete their projects by providing word lists, sentence starters and motivators to build their confidence while they learn. Legos will help children who struggle as well as children who are advanced to get excited about their learning and excel in reading and math!
