This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a second grade teacher in a low income school in Washington Heights, New York.
Every year, students enter my classroom at different reading, writing, and math levels - making it important that I differentiate to enrich their learning experiences. One way that I have found that enriches and motivates my students' learning is games.
Currently, I have two phonics games that unfortunately do not meet the learning needs of all my students. Because of this, not all students get to play. I try to create and make games that students can play and learn with, but these do not stir as much excitement as the real board games.
I would like to offer my students the ability to play games that motivate and teach them. I am asking for a math game set that can be used by all students regardless of the math skill they are learning, and also phonics and reading games that range in levels.
I know that providing my students with games that enrich and motivate will make a wonderful impact on their learning. They all will get a chance to play and enjoy learning.
