Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 6th graders taking part in a new magnet academy whose goal is to promote global leaders and positive communication throughout the world. My students are also a part of a Title I school, so promoting communication to all parts of the world can open doors for them they may have previously not known. My goal is to always satisfy all of their needs and help them see beyond their own neighborhoods.
Obtaining items and concepts can help them see beyond their own world and to inspire their desire to meet new people, learn, and explore.
My students are capable of so much, and often the right type of teaching is required to activate their potential. I hope to give them that type of teaching and to give them a Social Studies experience that is engaging and relevant.
My Project
Flocabulary will make a difference in my student's learning because it will provide an exciting and varied way to introduce them to new ideas and curriculum. Flocabulary's content is made to be engaging for the middle school level, and having that engagement makes it so then I can build them into further levels of learning, such as applying and creating work based on the knowledge they learned from Flocabulary.
This year, in particular, it is hard to keep my student's attention, but Flocabulary makes it easy to keep them engaged and participating with the content.
Also, when a student needs to quarantine, Flocabulary makes it simple for them to learn from home and really learn because the content is so engaging.
