My Students

My students are fun-loving, adaptive, creative students with a hunger to learn. I currently teach math to all of the fourth graders at my school. My school is a Title I school with a diverse population. Some of them come from environments that aren't ideal and they look forward to coming into my classroom each day. We are a rural school in a small community. Students have never had a unique school experience and I want them to have that in my classroom!

My Project

Students will use the Bloxels to create interactive video games to demonstrate what they have learned. Imagine retelling a story through the motions of a video game. Imagine learning fractions through the characters you create for a video game. Students spend a lot of their time playing games. Imagine bringing that activity into the classroom to help their learning. Can you demonstrate what you learned about government, while creating a video game? Now students can! Their learning will come to life! Why not use a students favorite activity to enhance their experience? They'll learn coding skills as well- a useful skill for the future.
