Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Through the support of donors choose, I was recently able to get materials for a sound wall for my classroom. This tool has proven to be extremely helpful for my students who struggle with reading and writing.

Due to the fact that all of my students have IEP's, my students are great levels behind in reading and writing.

Anything I can do to breakdown the barriers they face is invaluable. With the help of the sounds wall, my students have been able to find words with greater ease on the word wall with using the photos from the sound wall. In addition, the students enjoy using the mirrors to see how their mouth should be moving. While I have self taught myself how to use the sound wall, I firmly believe attending a sound wall professional development with further benefit my students and I. I want to utilize this resource to the best of my ability. Thank you for giving me that opportunity.
