My students are a creative group of young people. They are excited about learning and have a lot of energy! My school is located in a high crime, high poverty area of a large city. School oftentimes is the only constant in these children's lives. I try to provide a warm, comfortable environment for my students so they can learn without unnecessary stress.
School supplies are a necessity that many parents can not afford.
Providing the basic supplies for the school year can help alleviate some of the stress for my students and parents.
My Project
I would love for my students to have an iPad in the classroom for presentations. Students can take pictures and videos of their work to share with others. The iPad can also be used as a document camera during lessons. I can project what students are doing onto the white board. Student leaders can use the iPad to explain their work to classmates.
Students can use specific applications on the iPad anywhere in the classroom or school.
The classroom can be expanded using technology throughout the day. Student participation and learning will be increased by using technology and students will have ownership of their own learning.
