My students are wonderful kids who absolutely love Physical Education. They come to class everyday with great attitudes and ready to learn. They encourage one another and cheer each other on to success in any game or sport that we play.
Our elementary school is a poverty level school and P.E.
equipment is scarce, but that doesn't stop my students from always giving their 100% best efforts. My students deserve to have better equipment and more learning opportunities to make their P.E experience more enjoyable.
My Project
With the equipment requested, my students would be able to participate in many different games and activities in P.E.
My students will be able to use this equipment to learn gross motor skills as well as letters, numbers, and colors.
In my kindergarten classes I could use the colored and alphabet beanbags in a beanbag toss game. Students could work together to review letters and their sounds while learning to slide, toss, under and overhand throw.
Having new cones would allow me to replace to ones that we use now that are falling apart from years past. The colored and numbered cones, as well as the cone hurdles, would allow us to do more fitness and exercise circuits. For example, each numbered cone is a different station with an exercise or skill based activity. Students would do this activity for an allotted amount of time before they switch to a new station.
These items could really make a difference in our physical education program and hopefully help improve literacy and math skills along with getting fit.
