I will have a group of energized kindergarteners who love to keep busy. About 70% of my class are English Language Learners, who will be slowly learning more and more each day.
My school just recently became a Leader In Me school, and we are molding our kiddos from the very beginning to be great leaders.
With leadership comes independence and building confidence. Even though my kiddos are in kindergarten, this does not stop them from achieving goals set at a higher standard. All students are capable.
In the upcoming school year I will be moving from 2nd grade to kindergarten. All 5 year old kids are clever, talkative, and eager to learn. I am asking for help with flexible seating and some beginning of the year reading materials. I know children do not like sitting in one seat all day. I can agree the chairs are quite uncomfortable. I believe with the flexible seating I can have different stations setup throughout the classroom to have students get cozy while still working and learning. The reading materials will be apart of my class centers. I know the alphabet boxes will help the students practice and learn their beginning letters and sounds. This can be used independently or they can be synergizing with a small group.
Just imagine tiny kindergarteners sitting around the classroom in their flexible seating, very eager to work on their reading skills.
I know it will make their day. I teach at a title 1 school in a low income area and I want my students to school to be able to enjoy being in our classroom. The flexible seating and reading materials will ensure I can continue to help them as much as I possible can.
