This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My transitional kindergarten class consists of the younger kindergarten students.
Our Title I school is located in a low economic area.
One hundred percent of the students qualify for the free federal breakfast and lunch program. Most of my students come from families who do not speak English. My transitional kindergarten students are enthusiastic about learning and always try their best. I have seen their language, social and academic skills grow every day. They have shown me that they have the potential to exceed all expectations.
My Project
The storage cubby unit will be used to help students organize their learning materials. When students come back to school they will not be able to share manipulatives or other classroom materials to prevent spread of germs. I am planning to assign each student a cubby in which I will provide all the materials they will be using at school. This organizational unit with clear boxes will make it easier for students to find their own set of materials. The containers are big enough to hold learning game boxes and other manipulatives.
The easel is the perfect teaching tool because it has a magnetic surface for the letter and number magnets and write & wipe board on each side: One is blank for drawings, and one has permanent lines that are perfect for modeled writing.
This easel could be used as a mobile learning station. It would be very convenient to move anywhere around the room and be able to teach.
Please support my classroom in their return to school. In advance I thank you for your kindness and support to education.
