This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hello! My students are bright, funny, energetic, amazing children with special needs. They all bring something unique and beautiful to the table and are so fun to be around. These kids bring so much light to our staff whether it be by telling us knock knock jokes, giving us a hug when we need it the most, or showing us their latest dance moves! We are so proud of the way that they've overcome the obstacles that may come along with having special needs. We have huge celebrations for achieving skills that may seem minor to others, but mean the world to our children, their families, and our staff. We work hard to make these goals achievable by creating a learning environment that uniquely matches the needs and the personalities of our wonderful students.
My Project
Our children have been facing a difficult transitioning period in their learning. In school, they are used to using tactile objects/manipulatives to learn. At home, they are adjusting to using technology to learn. The OSMO builds the gap between physical and digital learning. This is especially important for children with special needs, who require additional supports to make learning accessible. The OSMO could also be used during remote teaching to read story books and engage our students in activities. With the OSMO our students will learn problem solving skills, reading, spelling, math, social skills, and expand creativity.
