it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten learning stars are from the Bronx, NY, and they are super excited to get back into the classroom. We come from a public Title I school, which means that a high percentage of our children come from low-income households. Regardless of the constraints and stressors that many low-income families experience in our community, the children come to school each day eager to learn and engage with their peers. Our classroom is a home away from home!
The children's faces light up when they see and are introduced to new learning tools, supplies, and materials!
They are special because at such a young age, they are working collaboratively, teaching and helping one another, accepting constructive criticism, and learning all at the same time. With your help, we are on our way to becoming the leaders of tomorrow!
My Project
Kindergarten is super exciting for both the children and myself. The excitement can easily turn into chaos without organization and healthy management. We are requesting seat sacks, not only to keep our materials separate and sanitary, but also to manage and organize our tools. The primary notebooks and rekenrek math tool will become part of our tool kits. These special materials help enhance their engagement and learning, but are expensive, and because many of the children come from low-income homes, your help is appreciated.
