My students need an easel. We do lots of whole group activities with this. From reading to shared writing to phonics lessons.

My Students

My students are in First Grade. They range in abilities, from not knowing their letters or sounds to being a fluent reader. We are a brand new school, so we are starting from scratch. We are also a large school and have large class sizes. I need all the resources I can get to make a successful learning environment. My students are enthusiastic and love to learn. It is my job to foster this excitement by being the best teacher I can be.

My Project

In our classroom we need an easel to facilitate whole group learning activities. We do shared reading together and learn many new reading concepts and comprehension skills. We do shared writing together and learn critical writing skills. We also do whole group phonics lessons to learn how to become better readers.

We are a community in our classroom and are learning to work in a collaborative environment.

Having an easel will allow us to think and learn together, thereby effectively learning how to collaborate. Our classroom is also a safe place to take risks and make mistakes. An easel will facilitate a happy, efficient learning environment.
