My Students
My students are a group of highly energetic, amazing children with autism in grades 1-5. Many students with autism have difficulties in learning new information, communicating, and social interaction, especially in the new virtual world!
My students are enthusiastic learners.
The students I teach range from mild to severe in the autism spectrum. Finding activities that can encompass all my little learners can be difficult! I teach in an urban elementary school in Wisconsin with a high poverty rate. All of my kids have excellent attendance and have a love of learning!
My Project
We have started out our school year virtually! So far so good, but I've noticed I could use some items to help make it even better. I have found the technology at my home is faster and more reliable than at school. Our district is not able to provide teachers with more advanced technology so I have purchased that on my own.
Now I would like my home work area to resemble a classroom!
I would like a mobile white board to use for lessons and to post anchor charts to help my students. I would also like to get some fun new books to read at story time. Story time is the favorite part of our school day in the classroom AND virtually! When we are finally back in person at school, I will be taking all these great materials back to my classroom to use there also!
