Due to Covid restrictions and the safety preferences of families, many children have been isolated from their peers for 2-3 years at this point. Therefore, I feel students need to be given opportunities to interact with their peers allowing for the social-emotional growth that comes naturally when students work and play together. Building and creating together with the Easy Build Bricks will foster natural, cooperative learning opportunities. Fun and creativity at the sand table will encourage social interactions as well as quiet cozy partner reading using the flex-space cushions in our library center. Reading The Kissing Hand allows students to connect their own emotions about being in school with the character's feelings. Additionally, being able to create faces with the dough mats allows students to show different emotions.
