This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are special needs children with severe self regulation/sensory issues, for example emotional disturbance, autism, developmental disabilities. There is a constant need for re-direction throughout the school day. The items I am requesting will help put together a sensory station for the students to access tools to help them calm down.
The use of sensory regulation tools such as the ones requested ( compression vest, massagers, weighted lap cushions, vibrating lap cushions) will help the students take sensory breaks throughout the day which will help them cope with their sensory needs.
