Learning to Speak and Learn With Technology

My students need these ipads to access classroom technology and progress monitoring apps. Technology offers a highly stimulable way to monitor a students speech and language development.

My Students

I am a speech language pathologist that works in an urban school district with a variety of students age 3 to 12. All of my students have very individualized speech and language delays that impact their ability to communicate within their classroom. This project will support all my students with the development of their communication skills so that they will be able to access the curriculum within their classrooms. Communicating ones knowledge effectively and efficiently is essential to making progress with a classroom.

My Project

The students I work with have a variety of speech and language delays that prevent them from accessing the curriculum in their classrooms. For all of my students, these ipads will offer them a highly stimulable means to demonstrate their progress and provide me with accurate data to adjust their needs accordingly.

This technology will offer some of my students an alternative means to communicate through pictures.

Finally, all our classrooms have technology. These ipads will offer my students the opportunity to access classroom technology within their intervention sessions. This will allow them to receive individualized instruction to learn the independent skills to access these tools in their classroom.
