We have the most inspirational students! They come from more than 75 countries and a multitude of different situations but they all strive for future success.
Including health and wellness for my students is a crucial part of their well-rounded high school experience.
My goal is to make sure all my students have the same quality opportunities to learn about their own health and wellness.
So many of my students must overcome hurdles just to get to school never mind juggle the schedules of after school activities, homework, a job, and family responsibilities. But they never cease to amaze me with their goal driven energy.
My Project
Did you know statistics show that if you live in a predominantly Hispanic or African American community, you are 30% less likely to survive a cardiac event? Studies show that is simply due to a lack of education. So we are going to make a serious change.
With these CPR/First Aid and AED educational materials, students will be able to make a life-saving change in our community.
During our Wellness Curriculum, students will be given the opportunity to become fully certified in CPR/First Aid and AED. This certification will be active for two years and will benefit students as they venture out into the workforce.
