This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Fourth graders should be able to read. After spending kindergarten and first grade online during the pandemic, I have a class where the majority of students can't read.
I can't send my students on to fifth grade without learning how to decode text.
This means I will be filling in those gaps in learning created by the pandemic. To accomplish this, I need a magnetic white board for my small group intervention table. This whiteboard will enable me to model the reading skills we are learning. The whiteboard being portable means I will be able to use it for portable centers around my classroom when I am not conducting intervention groups.
