My Students

My students come from all different types of backgrounds, countries, and ethnicities. English is their second language so school can be a bit more challenging for a lot of them. They are all at different levels in their learning with different interests and abilities. Whether they are learning to write the alphabet or write a sentence, they are motivated to learn.

They are full of energy and love when they learn something new!

They want to learn to read so that they can read to their fellow students. They want to be able to go home and show their parents and families what it is they have learned to do in class. They are ultimately teaching their parents and families.

My Project

Most of my students are ESL (English as a second language) kiddos. My kiddos will use these materials in their daily 5 center rotations. They will practice writing sentences, saying sentences and working on phonic with a partner. The kiddos will have a journal to write their sentences in.

I will pull them to the teacher table using these to practice phonics and reading.

The kiddos will be able to sound out the words and look at a picture for help if they are unsure. The kiddos will work with me and each other to become better writers and readers.
