Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love to learn through reading centers and I enjoy changing them up by seasons aside from making them challenging so that they continue to learn in new ways. Colorful paper, colored ink, adhesive dots, painters tape, protective dry erase pockets and laminating sheets make for more engagement oppose to black and white centers.
Through learning centers, scholars are able to excel in their verbal, solitary, visual, kinesthetic and even auditory learning skills.
We allow scholars to work as a team or independently depending on their best method of learning. There is always someone available including myself to assist with guidance. The best part is the fun hands-on learning they go through in a relax, stress free environment. To see their faces light up as they learn is everything!
Scholars love when various manipulatives are used in learning centers such as Play-Doh, magnetic tiles, protective dry erase pockets and scented markers. Play-Doh is always a great way for scholars to develop their motor skills in addition to learning along the way such as ABCs and numbers. Magnetic tiles make for great team work building as scholars learn that sharing is caring.
