Learning to Read Like Rockstars

Help me give my students a new reading experience. Books that help us to transition from picture books to chapter books.

My Students

My students are avid readers and love working in small groups. They love reading to each other! They are funny and kind and look out for each other every day. They are very creative and love to make their own comic books, paper toys, poems, and other art.

They love coming to school!

They are an inspiration and come to school each day full of enthusiasm and love, ready to experience something new. They seek to be leaders to others.

My Project

Children need help learning how to transition from just reading picture books to love reading chapter books. The books I've chosen are specifically designed to help students make that leap. Students around the world love the adventures that are included in these exciting new worlds. Children also love a mystery close to home. My students are based in Richmond Va. which is where the Virginia Mystery Series is based as well. Students become engaged in reading about places that are nearby and that they eventually get to visit during school field trips.
