My Students

I am the proud teacher of 28 school-loving kindergarten students. Each morning, they arrive eager to start their day and are abuzz with the new things we will learn. There is a love of learning from the moment they arrive!

My school is located in a multicultural area of Philadelphia.

A percentage of students are learning to speak English for the first time. It is a low-income area of the city, and students often come to school with little to no resources provided by the school district. However, my students never see that as a barrier to their learning and are always motivated to do their best.

My Project

My students love learning to read! Enjoying great books and playing games with letter sounds is a great way to build their early reading skills. It also is fun and engaging.

This table, books, and letter and word game set will help me set up a spot in the classroom for students to work together and practice their early reading skills.

They'll open books to find great characters and illustrations and share in finding the wonderful story elements that make a great book. They'll build letters and words and learn that they are quickly becoming kindergarten readers!
