This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My bilingual first grade students are full of joy and are eager to learn . Our classroom is a place of daily growth, constant challenge and discovery. My students will spend this year learning the foundation of reading, writing, and math in order to succeed in their lives.

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My Project

Students will be using the pencils and crayons to do their daily assignments at home and in school. For example, they will be able to work on creating a portfolio with the writing pieces throughout the school year.

By providing my students with the basic writing tools, they will have the opportunity to do school and homework since many of them lack the necessary supplies.

By having our writing tools, my students will be able to increase their learning and time on task. They will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether they have the materials to do their work.
