Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are full of life and always willing and excited to learn. By providing them with flexible seating and an intriguing library, they can be exposed to various themes of literature while feeling comfortable. Since my students have a range of mild-to-moderate disabilities, I plan to help them reach their greatest potential, while enjoying learning and feeling confident about themselves.
I teach at a very diverse (primarily Hispanic), low-income Title I school in San Diego, California where 100% of students participate in a free or reduced-price lunch program.
My students are very grateful for all that they have and I strive to provide them with the best possible education and allow for my classroom to be a "safe space" for learning and growing.
My Project
I would be greatly appreciative to have my project funded to help my students enjoy reading and learning. I plan to provide leveled books to support their development in reading and love for reading. By building their classroom library, they are exposed to many different books to keep them engaged and interested in reading. Additionally, my students have mild-to-moderate disabilities and lack confidence in themselves and their abilities. To help improve their love for learning, providing books at a level they can read and that interest them, they can begin to develop the important foundational skills for reading, learning, and feeling confident in themselves.
My students and their learning mean the world to me and I hope to develop opportunities to support their needs while prompting a love for learning, reading, and believing in themselves as learners.
It would mean so much to myself and my students for your donations to help us continue to grow and learn together. I hope to create a classroom that fosters their learning and self-esteem. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
