Learning to Love Reading through Novel Study

My Project

My fifth-grade students are thoughtful, creative, fearless, and, most of all, full of questions. They love to read and complete projects that are both engaging and hands-on. I enjoy listening to their lively debates about character relationships, point of view, and even discussing and supporting their inferences. They love the discussion and the ability to express their opinions. My students come to school ready to try new things and to take chances. They are eager to grow academically and personally. One way they can do this is through a novel study.

Book studies will catch my students' attention, so they can experience a meaningful connection to literature and fall in love with reading.

My students are excited to begin reading and making connections with books and each other.

In order to be successful, they need engaging books, such as Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25, to spark their curiosity.

I am so thankful and excited to have a group of students ready to start exploring the wonderful world of reading.
