Learning to Love Literature

My students need a fully functioning listening center and books on CD to be able to experience repeated exposure to high quality children's literature.

My Students

Listening to your favorite stories being read aloud to you over and over again is one of the great joys of children learning to read.

This K/1 classroom is full of diverse student with diverse needs.

All students benefit from have access to hearing beloved stories read to them over and over again. These young students need access to a fully functioning and fully stocked listening center so that they can learn to love reading.

My Project

I have requested a new CD player for my classroom (one that won't skip when the stories are playing) as well as a listening center that allows multiple students to listen to a story at one time. I carefully selected high quality books on CD that I know children love and will help them learn to love reading.

Becoming literate is the most important key to success in a child's future.

Listening to stories and loving books and reading is such an importance piece of students learning to read.
