Learning to Love Literacy

Help me give my students an opportunity to flourish at their own differentiated literacy levels through games. These games will allow me to provide a fun way to meet my students at their own learning levels!

My Project

My classroom is full of energetic 2nd graders. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. They are amazing kids and truly are my inspiration!

My school is located in a high poverty area and is not able to provide students with all the supplies they need in order to succeed.My second-grade students from the West-Side of Chicago are thoughtful, creative, and deserve a safe and comfortable space to learn in!

They are eager to learn and love being back in school where they can have hands on learning games and experiences. I have looped with my students and now I am teaching them in 2nd grade as well! Next year, I will have a new group of students and over 30 kids in my classroom. I am in need of materials to help create differentiated centers, to meet individual student needs.

These materials will help my students in various ways. I will use these games as a fun way to differentiate centers and small groups leading into summer school and my next school year. With having over 30 kids in my classroom, I want to prepare for the gap in levels between students. I strive for my students next year to fall in love with literacy like my current group of students and want to provide resources that are fun and engaging. Please consider helping out this incredible group of 2nd graders have a successful and comfortable school year!
