Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are curious, energetic, and full of potential. They come to school eager to learn, explore, and grow. For many of them, kindergarten is their first experience with structured learning, and I want to make it joyful and meaningful. In our classroom, we focus on developing early literacy skills through play, exploration, and positive experiences with reading and writing.
My students love school when they have access to fun, interactive materials that make learning feel like an adventure.
Early literacy is the foundation of all future learning.
I am asking for alphabet letters, literacy games, and engaging books to help my students fall in love with reading from day one. These materials will support students in:
• Letter recognition – through colorful magnetic letters, puzzles, and manipulatives.
• Phonemic awareness – with fun, interactive games that help students hear and play with sounds.
• Vocabulary and comprehension – by reading high-interest picture books that spark imagination and meaningful conversations.
These resources will be used daily in small groups, literacy centers, and one-on-one instruction to meet students where they are and help them grow as confident, joyful readers.
By providing my students with the tools to practice letter sounds, build words, and engage with books, you are helping shape lifelong readers and learners.
With your support, my students will have more opportunities to touch, hear, see, and experience language in a hands-on and exciting way. These moments will build confidence, independence, and a love for reading that will follow them far beyond kindergarten.
