My Students

I am the librarian at a Title I school in North Carolina where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite the hardships they may face, my students are eager to learn and do their best.

Our students walk into school every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.

I want to provide them with materials and experiences that will encourage them to explore, think deeper and give them the opportunity to succeed.

My Project

Robotics and coding bring excitement into the curriculum for all students. I have chosen the Dash & Dot robots with a set of challenge cards because they are hands-on learning tools that teach creativity, problem-solving, and coding to children in grades K-5.

Teaching my students how to code will help build confidence and creativity and provide tools for them for when they need it later in life.

With Dash and Dot robots, my students will develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills using computer science.

Our students will work together to develop their collaboration and communication abilities as they learn valuable 21st century skills. Help our students get introduced to STEM early and and grow their skills for the opportunities of today’s world.
