Learning to Code in STEAM with Ozobots

Help me give my students a classroom set of ozobots to learn coding.

My Students

I teach STEAM in a low-income, Title I school, where most of my students live in poverty. Despite their many obstacles to learning, these students are motivated to learn and excel when provided opportunities and materials to do so. I work hard to create diverse lessons that utilize both technology and hands-on activities to create meaningful learning experiences.

Unfortunately, my classroom budget is very limited and so my students don't have access to technology and materials readily available in more affluent schools.

As the STEAM teacher, I desire to provide every student in the school the means to explore science in new ways despite financial limitations or the myriad of challenges they face outside of school.

My Project

Ozobots are the perfect entry for students of all ages to begin coding. These amazing little robots will follow different colored lines drawn with marker which makes coding possible even for Kindergarteners.

A classroom set will allow every student equal opportunity to code.

The engineering process is all about trial, error, and fixing your mistakes before trying again. Having a bot available for each student is necessary for them to try their code and discover what needs to be fixed.

From Kindergarteners drawing colored lines to code to 6th graders block coding to complete challenges, this set will help my students connect with technology at a whole new level!
