My Students

Hello!! I am just starting my first year of teaching in a Kindergarten class!! I teach in a rural rice town community and my students are similar to a salad bowl. They come from all sorts of backgrounds. I want fun choices and toys for my kinders to play with that they may not have at home. They are sweet, innocent, loving children that just need and cherish a safe, loving and teachable environment to live, learn and play in!

My Project

Having a play kitchen with pots and pans and other kitchen essentials will help my kindergarteners build community with each other and learn to work together! They will learn how to be good mommy’s and daddy’s and learn how to treat one another. It’s all about dramatic play and building community in the classroom. Being able to pretend to be caretakers and work together will help students learn to work together and practice community, collaboration and learning to be responsible which is part of the Benchmark curriculum. I believe some students need to practice social skills and learn from each other of how to treat each other, which comes from play and community building!
