Learning To Be Mobile!

My students need six tumbling mats to help them achieve their gross motor goals that they have on their Individualized Education Plan.

My Students

My students display perseverance, a positive attitude, respect, and responsibility each day they come to school. They come to school eager to learn and to take risks to grow academically, personally, and socially. They truly are an inspiration.

Despite their physical and intellectual disabilities, my students still strive to be their best.

They all love learning and coming to school. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies to ensure that our students' needs are met. We implement learning experiences that focus on improving a variety of skills within that one experience. For example we will plan activities that designed to improve their fine motor, gross motor, and academic skills all at the same time.

My Project

My students have gross motor and fine motor goals on their Individualized Education Plans. These students are in the process of learning how to be more independently mobile. They are currently learning how to crawl, sit up on their own from laying down, and how to walk.

My classroom does not have the proper mats to protect my students from getting hurt when working on those goals.

They currently fall on a carpet that is on tiled flooring. The mats would cushion their falls better and would encourage them to keep working towards their gross motor goals. The brightness of their mats would also brighten up the classroom and make it a more friendly environment.
