This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students will be greatly impacted by these materials. They are just now getting back to some sort of normalcy after COVID, in the classroom. Through journaling, books, and discussions with the situation cards, my students will be able to better understand themselves, their feelings, and how to be around others in a kind way. Journaling allows them the freedom to express their feeling. The books and discussion starters will help them learn how to talk with others in a variety of real-life situations.
Social-emotional learning is critical to our students well-being.
It improves their self-image, life skills, and relationships with others. By having the journals, books, prompts, situation cards, and other materials in their classroom, it will help our young students to become more empathetic, compassionate, and caring people towards one another.
