My Students
My class is a Pre-K ASD classroom. I am a first year teacher and am starting out with nothing! ASD students truly benefit from sensory objects and different type of learning tools than general education students. I want to transform my classroom into a room that makes these students feel safe and ready to learn.
I have big plans for these kiddos and can not wait to get started!
Please help me help my kiddos learn and get ready for Kindergarten!
My Project
Kids learn through hands-on activities. There was a study that was just done that says kids retain 4% of what they write, 6% of what they hear and 90% of what they do. So based off of those statistics, I am completely changing my teaching style. I also want to incorporate tons of STEM activities for my kiddos this year. I have found ton of STEM activities that can be used in the sensory table with the sensory supplies. Such as building the strongest tower with kinetic sand to simulate a hurricane and learn about what happens to our beaches during the storm.
With theses items I have selected, my kiddos can find numbers in sand, or find letters in water.
I would like to use the snow for when our kids learn about Antarctica.
Help my kiddos grow and discover learning in a brand new way!
