Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This school year I am teaching 24 highly energetic, curious, and confident 3rd graders. Their backgrounds are all very different which bring a challenging but rewarding experience to the classroom. My 3rd graders all have different academic and social abilities which I see grow positively each day. They are resilient, strong, and caring.
My students CAN and WILL learn!
Due to such different backgrounds, challenges, and experiences in my students lives they require a lot more support and for that reason I hope to provide them with a little extra motivation and guidance. I believe in them, I hope you do too!
My Project
My students are very active. They enjoy moving about the classroom during transitions, standing when working, or sitting comfortably when reading. In order to support their needs I'd like to help them become more engaged by providing them balance balls, balance cushions, and portable desks that can be used on the rug.
I am hopeful that with these items they will be able to stay on task longer and have an option of where to sit while they learn.
Having the freedom to move when they need to will allow them to take control of their learning and enjoy their time in class.
