This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first graders have such a strong desire to learn. Every morning they come in with a smile on their face ready to start their school day. They are eager students wanting to learn new things. Knowing they want to learn makes me feel accomplished because I know they are enjoying school. I love that my students are not only interested in learning, but they have created a great classroom environment which allows everyone to make mistakes and learn from them.

My Project

Students should be able to find joy in learning. It is why I would like to provide my students with different types of games. My students will not only be having fun, but they will also be learning at the same time. My students will be getting practice with beginning sounds, middle sounds, ending sounds, vowel patterns, spelling words phonetically and so much more. Students need to practice these skills in order to become better readers and writers. Therefore it is necessary to find ways to keep them entertained while still learning. Repetitive work isn’t fun for students, which eventually leads to students not being engaged anymore and not learning. Hence I choose different types of games and word practice.
