My Students
As a school counselor, I have the privilege of getting to know many of the incredible elementary students. My students range from kindergarten to sixth graders and their vivid personalities range as well. With all of my students, I find a desire to grow and be a valued member of our school community.
Kids do well if they can.
Some of my students come from single family homes and others are trying to understand their parents' divorce. Some of my students have lost loved ones and are learning to ride the waves of grief. Other students are dealing with their anxiety on a daily basis. I am in awe of their strength.
My Project
With visuals such as the Hoberman sphere and brain model, students will not only hear about coping strategies and the science behind it but they will see and get hands on experience too. Utilizing these and sensory tools, in conjunction with books on how to handle grief and anger, and workbooks on self-compassion, the students will have fun while learning lifelong coping strategies.
By donating to our project, you are not only giving the students a hands on learning experience, but you are giving them skills and tools that will help them navigate their world now and in the future.
With anxiety reducing tools such as the yoga mats, yoga cards, chime, and stress release objects the students will have more success in school and in life.
