This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is all about having a safe place to to learn about compassion and understanding for others. I a hoping for a new reading area for my class that my students can enjoy while read and learn about compassion through picture books. I am requesting a bench so students can gather here to read these books as they please. I am also requesting books that will teach my students about compassion. These books will help them see the world through the eyes of other people. Each book was selected to help them see that. Through these stories and new sitting area, my students will learn to work towards alleviating suffering in others as these books teach these life lessons that I know my students will enjoy. One way we can measure the success in my students' understanding of compassion is through discussions that these books will open up for us.
Teaching and learning about compassion starts at a young age and I know my students will greatly benefit from this project to help them see that clearer.
My students are special because with these books this will help them continue to grow and care for others.
