This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a low income community. More than 70% of our students are English language learners. Most of my students do not have the technology, materials, or the learning opportunities at home or at school. There is a great need for technology and reading materials in our community and our classroom. There are so many online and technology opportunities in math, science, and reading that my students need and are missing out on. My students and I are excited to start our technology experiences and learning!

My Project

The students in my classroom come from low income families who don’t have technology at home. Through the use of the tablets my students will get the opportunity to learn through technology in all subject areas. Students will be able to read using online books. They will be able to work on projects and research different topics online by using the tablets. My lower level readers will also get the opportunity to use the tablets. They will be able to get on applications that will expand their reading by practicing phonics and sight words. They will also be able to review and practice their math standards through different apps and websites. Every student in my classroom will get the opportunity to expand their learning through the use of technology.
