Learning Through Technology
My students need 2 iPods to listen to books during our Daily Five small group time.
My first graders are in desperate need of technology in order to catch up to the rest of the world. Most of my students do not have access to computers, tablets, or iPods outside of school. I would like to provide them with iPods to listen to books online and to play educational games.
I teach in a Title I school with low-income families.
We are a big school with not much money to spare. Many of my students receive free or reduced lunch and only get hot meals at school. They do not have the means to purchase computers, tablets, or iPods.
These iPods will allow my students the chance to access technology that is not normally available to them. This technology will put them on a more even playing field with their peers than they are on now. They will be exposed to new games and books that they are not familiar with now.
This project will make a huge difference in my students' lives by allowing them to use technology that they do not normally have access to at their homes.
When my students go out into the world, they will not be shunned or laughed at for not knowing about the latest and greatest technology.
