Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in 2nd grade. The majority of my students are from low income households. As a result my students have little in the way of school supplies, books, or even daily living necessities such as their daily meals. Your donations will make a difference in their lives.
I created a Poetry Reading and Writing Club for my students, to help them not only learn through poetry, but also to express their emotions.
Through this club, I hope to inspire students to become avid readers and writers from an early age. I believe that through reading & writing poems, my students will get the opportunity to experience and read about new things that now appear nearly impossible to reach for or are even unknown to them.
My Project
In order to make the Poetry Club effective, there are numerous materials that we need such as paper, markers, pencils, paint, laminating machine, glue and so forth. With all my students’ challenges, these materials will motivate them and inspire them to gain confidence, raise their self-esteem, and in turn, allow them to use their imagination and creativity to create and write their own poetry.

This particular group of students is dear to me and I feel that this poetry club will allow them the opportunity to strive and become effective learners. By donating to our class you will directly impact students who need resources to succeed.
